Romans personal view on the worlds, day three & four
It`s thrilling time
…but who is the good guy and who is the bad guy? That`s not to figure out, but it`s exciting!
After we got towed to the race area at 1 pm it was only HOT. Around 4:30 pm a light southeast with lots of variations settled with 2 bft.
One general recall …and first time a good start at the committee…again the same…this time at the pin end…very good start but unfortunately the wind lift 20 degrees. Doesn`t matter, we got some nice puffs and rounded first. Matias (international with Peter from Canada and our Dominik) and Gustavo following. Gustavo gybed at once and so we did; for sure we had to stay with him and so a race in the race started. So Matias sailed very well to a clear win. Gilli Roth was second; Gustavo and us trailing.
Second race seems to be nearly the same; 2-3 bft and a bit shifty. This time Niels Rump got the best start at the pin end. Next Gustavo, us, Daniel and Georg…the hot shots together…
Gustavo got the header best and was leading. We rounden 7th and again had to find a way through the tough guys. Slowly we managed to become third but sometimes it was strange sailing with 10 boats on the run in between 5 boat lengths…so good to have a gate even we are only 20 boats.
At the end Gustavo won ahead of Fernando and us.
Before the last race it will hot…hot…hot! In worst case we could become third. Very secretly, quiet and calm Ciciero is now third with a chance for the title too. Gustavo is sitting in our neck but for sure we have all chances. We are leading now all four days…wait and see…press your thumbs…

Best wishes

Roman, who will get now an alcohol free caipi…smile

***** day three
Such a day doesn`t happen a lot of times to us: first race, shifty, 2 bft., medium start but good first beat, we arrived on port tack at the windward mark; tacking very close to Georg Nehm in the zone and then can`t get the mark due to a little header; going head to wind…but forbidden and so we did our penalty after rounding as fourth. Unfortunately the fleet was such closed together that we started the run as second last boat.
After this incident all worked good and with the help of all the shifts we could recover to 6th place at the end.
Meanwhile the wind was up to 5+ bft. in gusts and we changed to the A1, what was not such a good decision in this extrem short and choppy waves.
Again to early at the start, but this time really packed and so it needs a lot of time to go back behind the starting line. As by far last boat we started behind the fleet. This thermical breeze is working only on the left side and so we had noch real chances to come back and ended as 12th while our rivals did really well.
Okay, it can`t work every day perfect…let`s wait and see. Tomorrow is anew day.

Greetings
